Samba Reggae | Intermediate & Advanced | Michael de Miranda In this workshop we dive into the deep roots of samba-reggae and the powerful connection with Africa. Layered patterns, call-and-response and collective energy create a pulse that is both earthly and modern. This workshop invites you not only to play, but also to listen consciously and feel the origin of the rhythm. The entrance fee for the evening program is striking: we ask you to bring 1 kg of shelf-stable food as an entrance, for the Groesbeek Food Bank. This idea we have looked at from the celebration of the Dia Nacional do Samba (the National Day of the Samba) where in Rio de Janeiro the samba schools of the Grupo Especial (Rio's 12 best schools, samba's premier league) organize three party nights where the entrance fee is 1 kg of shelf-stable food. The Groesbeek Food Bank asks not to bring refrigerated or frozen products, but rather products such as pastas and rice, meal sauces and mixes, hard vegetables (charcoal varieties), soups (can and pot), vegetable preserves and puree powder, canned meat and fish, shelf-stable dairy (products), toppings (jam, sprinkles, peanut butter), oils and fats.
